Daniela Glunz (b. 1983, Hamburg, Germany) is a contemporary artist and photographer whose practice moves between painting, photography and digital image-making. She studied Communication Design at the IN.D Institute in Hamburg and has worked independently since 2005.

Her early career was shaped by photography, particularly beauty and fashion photography, through which she developed a highly intuitive approach to image-making. Working with the human face and body taught her to translate intangible qualities such as emotion, presence and atmosphere into visual form. Over time, however, photography became increasingly concerned with the construction of an external image, while Glunz became more interested in what exists beneath or beyond what can be photographed.

Painting opened a different space for this investigation.
